Joining the Apache Software Foundation
A personal reflection on the impact of open source, and becoming a member of the Apache Software Foundation.
Last year, I was honored to become a member of the Apache Software Foundation (ASF). The impact of ASF and its open-source projects is truly remarkable. The foundation is governed by merit, with its members discussing and voting on matters, and nominating and electing new members based on their contributions. The unofficial motto of the foundation is “community over code”, emphasizing the value of the community, its members, and their potential for the future. I am proud and grateful to be a part of this community.
In the coming weeks, I plan to write several blog posts addressing common questions about open-source and sharing my personal experiences. If you have any questions or would like to hear about a specific topic, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I would be happy to help write about those.
